Mother Stabbed in Front of Child During Daylight Home Invasion in Staten Island

Staten Island this week, a 23-year-old mother was brutally stabbed in her home during a broad-daylight robbery, with her 3-year-old son present. The assailants, a man and a woman, forcibly entered the residence on Hygeia Place and Boyd Street in Stapleton Heights around 2:45 p.m. on Monday.

According to police reports, the invaders barged into the home, immediately assaulting the young mother. In the course of the attack, one of the intruders stabbed her in the leg. The attackers swiftly ransacked the premises, making off with an unspecified amount of cash, a cellphone, a social security card, a wallet, and an EBT card.

The victim was rushed to Richmond University Medical Center, where she is currently in stable condition. Miraculously, her 3-year-old son emerged physically unharmed from the harrowing ordeal.

Surveillance photos released by the NYPD on Wednesday reveal the suspects walking on a snow-covered sidewalk. As of Thursday, the perpetrators remain at large. The male suspect is described as approximately 5-foot-10 and 165 pounds and black, last seen wearing a black hoodie, gray sweatpants, and a black ski mask. The female suspect, identified as black with long braids, was last seen in a black sweater, black sweatpants, and black-and-white sneakers
